Who we are
Founded in 1993 by Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former Governor of Kano State (2015–2023), and his wife, Prof. Hafsat Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the Ganduje Foundation is a non-governmental organization committed to addressing the needs of marginalized and vulnerable groups in Nigeria. The foundation operates as a beacon of hope for underprivileged communities, leveraging its resources and networks to provide sustainable and impactful interventions across various sectors.The organization’s programs are designed to uplift lives, foster self-reliance, and promote societal development. Its key focus areas—Education, Health, Youth Empowerment, and Public Affairs—are tailored to tackle some of the country’s most pressing challenges, including poverty, unemployment, maternal mortality, and lack of access to quality education and healthcare.Since its inception, the Ganduje Foundation has Provided over 10,000 scholarships to underprivileged students, enabling them to pursue education at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.Organized free medical outreaches serving thousands with critical healthcare, surgeries, and medications.Paid fines for over 5,000 prison inmates, facilitating their reintegration into society and reducing prison congestion. Delivered clean water projects to rural communities, significantly improving health and hygiene.
Empowered youth through entrepreneurship and vocational training, providing thousands with skills to become self-reliant.Hosted numerous conferences, workshops, and public discussions to address critical national issues and foster awareness.The foundation also plays a pivotal role in bridging gaps between local communities and international development partners, ensuring that humanitarian assistance reaches those who need it most.
